Recently, SDSU President Stephen Weber announced the suspension of the undergraduate policy that guaranteed enrollment to students who reside in the SDSU “in service area.” As chair of the Select Committee on K-16 Articulation, Access and Affordability, I have called a hearing to examine this issue in detail and to accept testimony on the merits of this policy change. I am eager to hear the views of experts in the field and community stakeholders on just how this policy will affect not only our current San Diego area High School and Community College students; but also how it will affect the future plans of all our students and their families who are dedicated to helping their children attain a quality, accessible and affordable college education.
I have convened the hearing at the date and location below and invite you to attend:
