The Sheriff also provides court security and related services for the SD Superior Court at several locations throughout the county. The Licensing Division serves as the registration center for those required by law to meet certain criminal registration requirements, such as sex offenders, arsonists, narcotic offenders and gang members. Additional services include: enforcement of certain court judgments; service of criminal documents; such as, warrants, restraining orders & eviction notices; civil process service; inked fingerprinting (they are the ONLY agency in San Diego that provides this service to the public); and the issuance of concealed weapons permits.Obviously, the Sheriff plays a critical role in the safety of our community.
